| Carrie earned her Bachelor's Degree at Michigan State University
in Zoology, where her research interests included animal behavior. She earned
her Master's Degree at Central Michigan University while studying green
frog orientation patterns. She worked on wetland restoration projects with
The Nature Conservancy and taught Organismal Biology and Human Anatomy at
Lansing Community College. Carrie now spends many hours watching birds and
looking at trees with their son, Ethan.
Eric earned his Bachelor's Degree at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Biology, where his research interests included fish population studies. He earned his Master's Degree at Central Michigan University while studying aggressive behavior between two mouse species. He earned his Ph.D. in Forestry/Plant Breeding and Genetics from Michigan State University. He taught Natural Resource Conservation and Environmental Science at Lansing Community College and also taught Outdoor Science at Western Michigan University and Dendroecology at Central Michigan University. Eric currently teaches Environmental Science and Biology at South Suburban College in the busy Chicago suburbs. Carrie and Eric have been running the ecotour business since summer 2003. They have spent many summers (and some winter days too) exploring all that Beaver Island has to offer and enjoy showing others the wonders that make up this great island. Beaver
